Grandview police respond to reports of vehicle theft, prowl

GRANDVIEW - In two unrelated cases last night, Grandview police responded to reports of teenage boys involved in a vehicle prowl and taking a car without permission.

The first incident, at 9:18 p.m., involved a 17-year-old boy who police say took his father's car without permission.

A Grandview police officer spotted the situation when he saw a car parked on the wrong side of the street in the 400 block of Victoria Circle.

Upon further inspection, the officer noticed the boy and a passenger, also a 17-year-old male. Both youths were released into their respective parents' custody.

Also, three teenage boys were reportedly involved in the vehicle prowl of a 1989 Toyota pick-up truck in the 1000 block of Hillcrest.

The incident was reported by a neighbor at about 10:34 p.m. and when officers responded to the scene they were able to apprehend two of the boys, a 14 and 17-year-old. Both were later released to their respective parents.

The above incidents were part of 19 responses by Grandview police between 6:42 a.m. yesterday and 12:34 a.m. today.
