Council approves annexation process

A step towards annexing five acres near Midvale Road was taken last night, as the Sunnyside City Council approved a petition by Greg Van de Graaf.

The decision sends the annexation request to the Sunnyside Planning Commission for processing and public hearing.

S'side adopts tighter vehicle dealer requirements

In response to unlicensed car lots in Sunnyside, the city council on Monday approved an ordinance requiring all vehicle dealers in the city to have a business license and meet state dealer license requirements.

The move was seen by council and staff as a way to ensure that citizens are protected from fraudulent car sales and that sales tax from car purchases be appropriately credited to the city.

Management services contract inked for well improvements

A $74,142 contract was approved by the Sunnyside City Council Monday night with HDR Engineering for construction management related to Wells 10 and 11. Under terms of the contract, HDR is responsible for project bidding, evaluation of bidding, estimates and oversight of contractor activities related to the wells.
