Grandview, Sunnyside softball gets rained out

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview High School girls softball team played for two innings against the Sunnyside High School softball team Thursday afternoon before the game was called due to rain.

"It was getting pretty wet out there," Doug Hansen, Coach of the Grandview team, said.

At the end of the second inning Sunnyside held a two-run advantage, leading 6-4 before officials decided the game could no longer continue.

"I believe if we would have kept going the runs would have kept coming," Sunnyside Coach Ralph Mendoza said.

The two teams will meet again next Thursday, March 23, in Sunnyside at 3:30 p.m. The teams will play one full game and then continue the game rained out yesterday, starting at the top of the third inning.
