Text Mania game makes west coast debut at S'side's Cinco de Mayo fest

With lights flashing, Latin music playing and people dancing to a frenzied beat, attendees at this weekend's Cinco de Mayo festival in Sunnyside might think they've just entered a night club.

What they'll be seeing instead is the debut of Text Mania, a high-energy, arcade-style game that is played on a giant cell phone keypad.

Festival goers will be the first on the west coast to experience the bilingual text challenge as players "dance" against each other to the latest Latin music and answer trivia questions by spelling out the answers on the keypad with their feet.

And, to add to the challenge, the game is bilingual with questions asked in both Spanish and English.

Players will have the opportunity to win prizes by competing in the first-of-its-kind game.

U.S. Cellular has chosen Sunnyside's festival as the place to unveil the new game. It can be seen and played all three days of the festival at the U.S. Cellular booth.
