Sunnyside police officers were dispatched to the office of Brent Bingham, D.O. at 10:17 a.m. yesterday (Wednesday), where two windows and the glass door to his office had been hit with bullets. It was also noted that the screens on the windows were not properly attached, indicating someone may have tried to enter the doctor's office.
Two other cases of vandalism occurred yesterday. The postmaster at Mabton reported at 12:59 p.m. that the outside drop box was broken into, and it was unknown if mail had been taken. A storage unit at Campbell's Mini Storage in Sunnyside was also broken into, with no report of what, if anything, was missing. That report was made at 10:31 a.m.
A burglary and a theft were also reported yesterday. At 12:10 p.m. a roofer, who noticed a break-in when he arrived to work on a home in the 600 block of South Eighth Street, notified police of the burglary. No report was available as to what was taken. At 11:48 a.m., a woman reported her poodle had been stolen by a suspect who, allegedly, had the dog in their home.
Police also investigated one violation of a no-contact order, five traffic problems, two suspicious people, three runaway juveniles, one 911 hang-up call, two reports of loud music, one report of lost property, one juvenile problem, one harassment report, one fight, two assaults, three animal problems and one false alarm.
They also served two arrest warrants, gave one assist to an agency and another to a citizen, provided a funeral escort, handled three informational calls and found property in two separate cases.
