Fifteen post office boxes broken into this past weekend

Sunnyside police were alerted to thefts at the Sunnyside Post Office at 713 East Edison Avenue by a Grandview woman at 10:15 a.m. this past Sunday.

The woman, who holds a post office box at the Sunnyside Post Office, advised officers that several mail boxes had been vandalized and some mail stolen. She had attempted to notify the post office, but reported that all numbers were disconnected.

Investigating officers found that thieves had broken into 15 boxes.

The postal boxes were 15 of 35 thefts reported over the weekend.
