IRENE A. BERNIER
Irene A. “Beans” Bernier, age 86, of Sunnyside died
Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Toppenish Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 21, 1919 in Sunnyside, to Daniel and
Maggie Oswalt. She received her education in Sunnyside. She spent most of her
life in the Lower Valley and worked for various restaurants.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Bernier and wife,
Brenda, and Terry Bernier, all of Anchorage, Alaska, Anne M. Groenig and
husband, Dennis, of Hillsboro, Ore., Ronnie Bernier and wife, Sue, of Selah;
and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas
Bernier; and her siblings.
Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, May 15, 2006,
from 8 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home,
Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima. Smith Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
JOSE ALFONSO GONZALEZ
Jose Alfonso Gonzalez, 80, of Grandview died Tuesday, May
9, 2006, at his home in Grandview.
He was born April 21, 1936 in El Terrero, Mexico, to
Perfecto and Camila (Alcaraz) Gonzalez Cardenas. On May 2, 1959 he married
Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez. Jose worked in farm labor and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez of
Grandview; his children, Miguel Gonzalez, Roberto Gonzalez, Ismael Gonzalez and
Jose Humberto Gonzalez, all of Mexico, Alfonso Gonzalez, Sergio Gonzalez,
Salvador Gonzalez, Jose Angel Gonzalez and Maria de la Luz Gonzalez, all of
Grandview, Alfredo Gonzalez of Kennewick, Javier Gonzalez and Francisco
Gonzalez, both of Prosser, Anselmo Gonzalez; and one sister, Maria Guadalupe
Cervantes of Grandview.
Viewing and visitation will be held Saturday, May 13, 2006,
from 3 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview.
Burial will follow in Mexico. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
