PHILLIP MICHAEL HICKLE

God chose Saturday, May 6, 2006 to take Phillip Michael Hickle, 25, home to rest with Him. Phillip died of natural causes at home near Kennewick in Benton County.

Phillip was born Oct. 2, 1980 in Sunnyside, the son of Virginia and Joe Hickle. He attended school in Prosser, graduating with the class of 1999. Phillip was a lifelong member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Prosser. He was baptized Nov. 30, 1980 by Pastor Bundeschuh and confirmed June 4, 1995 by Pastor Reese. He attended Sunday school, Bible School and served as an acolyte.

After being injured by burns in an accident Oct. 23, 1996, Phillip was at Harborview Burn Unit in Seattle, from October until February, and then was transferred to Children's Hospital in Seattle, where he stayed until March 17, 1997. Prior to the accident, Phillip was a member of the Prosser swim team where he excelled, earning many awards. He also was a lifeguard for the City of Prosser. He was a member of Prosser Middle School and High School bands as a drummer and was on the high school track team. As a young boy, he played soccer and mini ball. Phillip loved to hunt, ride motorcycles, roller blade, snowboard and drive. He loved cars, music and family times. More than anything else, Phillip loved his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Virginia Beierle of Lewiston, Idaho and Joe Hickle of Prosser; four sisters, Rachael Hickle, Sarah Hickle, Amanda Hickle and Heather Hickle, all of Lewiston; his grandparents, Pat and Lenard Beierle of Prosser and Viola Hickle of Grandview; aunt, Sandra Desserault (Dean), and their daughter, Lacey; uncle, Steven Beierle (Jodie), and their children, Rebekka and Wyatt Beierle; uncle, Lenard Beierle Jr., and his children, Maci, Hayden and Rayner; aunt, Julie Hickle; uncles, James Hickle, Jack Hickle and Jace Hickle. His godparents, Shirley and Charles Delaney; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, also survive Phillip.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Fred and Mary Lou Beierle and James and Fleeta McDonald; his grandfather, Charles Hickle; and uncle, Kevin Beierle.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, May 12, 2006, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Prosser. Burial will be at Prosser Cemetery.
