Floyd leads G'view to Regional tourney

YAKIMA - Grandview's Kevin Floyd won the boys tennis singles title during the CWAC District tourney held this past Saturday and Monday in Yakima.

Floyd advances to Regionals with the win. Also advancing to Regionals for the Greyhounds is Marco Diaz, who placed third at the District tourney.

In girls competition, Miranda Shreeve placed fifth at Districts to punch her ticket to Regionals, to be played this Friday and Saturday in Wenatchee.

Match scores were incomplete as of press time.

In related news, Floyd was selected all-league first team, Diaz was named to the all-league second team and Miranda Shreeve was named all-league third team.

In other postseason honors, Grandview's Raymond Cantu and Lionel DeLeon were named to the all-league third team.

Grandview Head Coach Jaime Morales was named the CWAC South Boys' Coach of the Year.
