Breaking News: Zillah rallies for 51st State

Shooting reported

At 8:13 p.m. yesterday the 911 dispatcher advised Sunnyside police officers that there had been a shooting in the area of the 8000 block of Van Belle Road where, they were told, a female had been shot in the leg.

This morning Sunnyside police were releasing no further information about that call, pending a statement from Police Chief Ed Radder later today.

On the daily activity log that is released to the press, the incident was entered as theft of an automobile.

Officers also investigated a 3:59 p.m. report of shoplifting yesterday at Wal-Mart, where a juvenile, female suspect was being held for officers.

Other investigations from 8:07 a.m. yesterday to 7:51 a.m. today included report of an abandoned vehicle, two alarms, five animal problems, two fights, two frauds, four harassments, two 911 hang-up calls, two runaway juveniles, two suspicious people, one threat, three traffic problems, one utility problem and four reports of vandalism.

They also served two arrest warrants and a court order, gave an assist to an agency and two to citizens and handled five informational calls. Two stolen vehicles were recovered, and there were two reports of property found.
