Grandview to host first ever alumni game

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview High School stadium will be the site of the first ever Grandview alumni soccer game Saturday, June 10, at noon.

Organized by Grandview's soccer coaches, Anne Holden and Francisco Garcia, the two games will pit Grandview's boys and girls alumni soccer players against the 2006 Grandview boys soccer team and the 2005 Grandview girls soccer team.

"If enough girls sign up we will have their game at 10 a.m.," Garcia said. "The boys will play at noon."

The cost for alumni will be $20 and each player will receive a t-shirt. The money raised will go to the Grandview High School soccer clubs. "We are hoping to raise enough money to pay for player warm-up suits and team bags," Garcia explained.

After the game there will be a BBQ and potluck picnic for the players and their families.

For any alumni wishing to participate in the soccer games, they can call Garcia at 882-8626 or 830-6961.

Admission is $2 for the games.
