PROSSER - It was no contest.
Prosser may have been a 3A school last year, but it received a rude welcome to the 2A ranks last night as Grandview's volleyball team romped to a 3-0 win.
The rout was on from the get-go as the visiting Lady Greyhounds won 25-14, 25-11 and 25-6.
"We did a pretty good job," said Coach John La Fever. "The team did a good job, we were pretty balanced."
La Fever said he wasn't surprised his team handled the Mustangs so easily.
"We're a pretty tough team," he said. "We did the things we wanted to do."
Kealey Johnston led Grandview with seven kills and 16 digs, and teammate Chante Bottineau helped the attack by dishing out 25 assists. Grandview's Jessica Gonzalez and Katie Veloz had 15 and 13 service points, respectively.
Also helping the Lady Greyhound cause were Raissa Licano, Kinzi Poteet and Sydney Mottice with five kills each.
Mottice also hustled for eight digs and tied Johnston and Veloz with a team-high four passes. Poteet, Licano and Penwell each had three blocks to lead Grandview in that category.
Grandview (1-0, 2-0) returns to action tomorrow, Thursday, at Toppenish.
