Mary (Adams) Brown, 84, of Vancouver and a long-time resident of Sunnyside and Quincy passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at her home after a long illness.
Mary was born March 27, 1922 in Minatare, Neb., the daughter of John and Elizabeth Adams. Mary and her husband, Errol Brown, were married Nov. 7, 1943. They had three children, James of Meridian, Idaho, Donald of Portland, Ore., and Carol Davis of Silverdale.
Mary was known to her family members as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known as an immaculate housekeeper, homemaker, gardener, and was envied for her painting talent. For many years, she worked alongside her husband, Errol, in several business ventures including farming, potato processing, french fry processing and retail clothing. She was known as a very selective women's and children's clothing buyer for Totem Sales in Sunnyside.
She is survived by her husband, Errol; two sons, James Brown and wife, Sherrie and Donald Brown and wife, Jo Ann; one daughter, Carol Davis and husband, Richard; six grandchildren, Brian Davis, Valerie Dewitz, Melinda Anthony, Stacy Crockett, Timothy Brown and Michael Brown; as well as two great-grandchildren, Emma Lee Brown and Alexandria Crockett. Also surviving are her sisters, Esther Miller, Shirley Martin, Eilleen Ewing and Rachel Close; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, Donald and Elmer Adams; and two sisters, Ann Hoffman and Irene Graff.
Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, from noon to 8 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, from 8:30 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Internment will be held at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
