Shots fired at S'side residence early this morning

A Sunnyside resident reported hearing four or five gunshots at 12:17 a.m. today, Sept. 20, in the neighborhood of the 900 block of South 15th Street.

Investigating officers located a man, who told them someone had shot at his residence with a shotgun. The suspects fled the area in a vehicle described as possibly being a gray or light blue Honda.

Any one who has information about this incident is requested to notify the Sunnyside police at 836-6211.

A burglary and a theft were reported yesterday, Tuesday. The theft was reported at 11:20 a.m. by a resident in the 600 block of South 12th Street, who told officers an XBox 360 she was renting from a company had been taken from her home. She gave officers the names of several suspects.

The burglary was reported at 5:05 p.m. by a resident in the 700 block of Fairview Avenue, who advised officers that someone had broken into the home before 11 a.m. and removed property.

In other police activity from 8:14 a.m. yesterday to 6:43 a.m. today, officers investigated three traffic problems, three suspicious people, a threat, a juvenile problem, a report of harassment, two fights, an assault, five animal problems, three automatic alarms and one abandoned vehicle.

They also served an arrest warrant and two court orders, gave two assists to agencies, provided a funeral escort, checked on the welfare of a resident and responded to an informational call.
