County to hear nuisance appeal
Peter and Lucy Campos have appealed Yakima County's view
that their property at 990 Woodin Road just outside of Sunnyside is a public
Vern Redifer, the county's public services director, said
officials in his department consider 990 Woodin Road to be a nuisance
"relative to our belief there are persons illegally occupying an
outbuilding on the property".
Lucy Campos said her family uses the building, which she
called a "little house", for storage. She said her son slept just
once in the building when he came to visit.
Following the Campos' appeal, Yakima County commissioners
yesterday, Tuesday, agreed to set an appeal hearing time of 10:30 a.m. for
Tuesday, Oct. 10, just after commissioners conclude their weekly agenda
The appeal hearing will be held in the commissioners'
hearing room at the county courthouse.
