YAKIMA - Everything needed to know about entering an item in this year's Central Washington State Fair is now available online through the Fair's Exhibitor Guidebook. The new Central Washington State Fair Exhibitors Guidebook can be found on the fair's website at www.fairfun.com.
The 2007 book reveals how, when and where to enter livestock, food items, flowers, hobbies, fruits and vegetables, and more at this year's fair. The book also provides information on contests open for exhibitors, as well as premium information and other useful tips for bringing home a blue ribbon.
Along with a number of returning contests open to fair exhibitors, there are several new contests at this year's fair, including the Saco Foods Bake Your Best Coffee Cake contest. Top prize will take home $150, second place will receive $100 and third place will get $75.
The Coffee Challenge-Cooking with Coffee is another new contest at the fair this year. The awards for the top winners are $25, $15 and $10, respectively.
Also new this year is a Cup Cake Creation contest. The contest has several classes, including "Holiday", "The 50's" and a "Boys/Girls Theme" class. The best of show award is a cupcake tree donated by the Cake Decorator's Shoppe, LLC.
Quilters will be interested in a new Fat Quarters Challenge contest at this year's fair. The contest is for small quilts up to a maximum size of 24" X 36". Top prize is $25.
Another new contest in the fabric department is the Vintage Apron contest for entrants who have created the best apron of years gone by. Top prize for this category is $25.
The 2007 Exhibitor Guidebook has been mailed to last year's exhibitors, but those who didn't receive a guidebook can access it online or can pick one up at the fair office, located at 1301 S. Fair Avenue.
