Breaking News: Outlook residents escape harm in drive-by shooting




Irma S. Soper, 62, of Grandview passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at her home in Grandview surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 20, 1945 to Amalia Sanpayo and Luis Saldana in Monterrey, Mexico. On Nov. 4, 2000 she married Leslie (Les) Soper in Vancouver.

Irma enjoyed bingo, sewing, crocheting, doing crafts, camping, fishing, cooking and especially going to the casino. She cherished time spent with her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie (Les) Soper of Grandview; children, Israel Gongora and wife, Sally,of Peoria, Ill., Jose Gongora and wife, Lucy,of Raeford, N.C., Richard Gongora and wife, Brenda, of Grandview, and Melissa Saldana of Sunnyside; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her parents; her sister, Petra Sias; and three brothers, Javier Saldana, John Mares and Felix Mares.

She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Maria Isabel Saldana.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, from 2 until 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
