Mable F. Henry, 83, of Grandview passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007, following a short illness at Hillcrest Manor, in Sunnyside.

Mable was born Aug. 5, 1923, in New Leipzig, N.D. to John and Lydia (Auch) Guenther. Mable grew up in the Grandview area and attended school at the Granger Academy.

She married Robert D. Henry on Oct. 2, 1945. They made their home in Grandview.

She was a homemaker, wife, mother, and an excellent cook. Fried chicken and lemon meringue pie were some of her specialties.

Mable volunteered as an aide at the Grandview Jr. Academy.

She loved the children and they loved her.

Mable was a member of the Grandview Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years.

Mabel Henry is survived by one daughter, Sandy LaLanne of Des Moines, Iowa; one brother, Adolph Guenther; three sisters, Esther Hall, Clara Carrier and Dorothy Lang; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and sisters, Nathalia Iblings, Linda Wilson and Ella Mehrer.

Memorial services for Mable Henry will be held Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Grandview. If you would like to come forward and share your memories of Mable, please write them down and bring them to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Jr. Academy, the Seventh-day Adventist Channel, I Memo 3ABN, or Eden Fund, c/o Hillcrest Manor, 721 Otis Ave., Sunnyside, WA 98944.
