GRANDVIEW - Grandview detectives were called to Sunnyside Community Hospital last night (Thursday) following what appears to be a gang related shooting in Grandview.
According to police, four juveniles were in Dykstra Park and heard a gunshot. The juveniles turned around and saw the 18-year-old victim fall to the ground with blood on his shirt and a male with a baggy sweater and blue bandanna covering his face, running away.
Grandview Detective Seth Bailey was unable to interview the victim yesterday because the victim was in surgery, he said.
Bailey did say the shooting appears to be gang related.
Detectives are investigating the case.
Also yesterday, an employee at the Vineyard Espresso and Deli at 150 Division Street reported graffiti painted on the south wall.
