Last suspect sought for Sunday's home invasion nabbed by local police

With assistance from the Grandview Police Department, Sunnyside police took Pablo Palencia, 22, into custody.

Palencia was wanted in connection with a home invasion that occurred early this past Sunday morning that left one man with a stab wound and one man with head injuries.

Palencia was located at an apartment in Grandview this past Tuesday and he was apprehended at 9:50 p.m. that night.

Sunnyside police are requesting charges of robbery in the first degree, assault in the first degree, unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree and theft of a firearm be filed against Palencia.

He will be transferred to the Yakima County Jail today (Thursday).

Police also investigated two thefts on Wednesday.

A stereo was reported stolen from a vehicle while it was parked at Wal-Mart at 5:25 p.m. on Wednesday.

Also, police received a report of stolen identity in the 1000 block of South Ninth Street. A parent told officers someone was using their child's name to order items online.

Also since Wednesday, police dealt with one animal complaint, one assault, two reports of counterfeit money, one case of disorderly conduct, one report of domestic violence, one fight, one report of graffiti, one juvenile problem, one report of a missing person, one 9-1-1 hang up call, one runaway juvenile, one suspicious person or situation, four traffic violations, one report of trespassing and two reports of vandalism

Police also served two arrest warrants, assisted one agency, provided one extra patrol, two funeral escorts, recovered three stolen vehicles and fielded eight informational calls.
