Margaret A. Morgan, 90, of Yakima and former Sunnyside resident, went to be with her Savior on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007.

She was born Aug. 22, 1916, at Shoshone, Idaho, the daughter of William Rogers and Estella (Rinehart) Greer. She with her family moved to Sunnyside when she was a year old. Margaret received her education in Sunnyside, graduating with the Sunnyside High School Class of 1935.

On July 4, 1939, she married James K. Richey and was widowed in 1956. On Jan. 1, 1960, she married Wendell H. Morgan and was widowed in 2004. She resided most of her life in Sunnyside.

Margaret was a long-time active member of the Grace Brethren Church in Sunnyside. She was also a member of the Sunnyside Sun Washington Garden Club, ceramic lunch bunch, Sunnyside Stampeders, Pioneer Picnic Association and a docent for the Sunnyside Museum.

Margaret enjoyed crocheting, crafts, ceramics, cake decorating, horseback riding, motorcycle riding and traveling.

She is survived by her daughters, Tish Cooper and husband, Gary, of Yakima, Velva Myers and husband, Tom, of Aloha, Ore., and Valerie Cowles and husband, Don, of Grandview; one son, Bill Morgan and wife, Shirley, of Cottonwood, Ariz.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, James Richey and Wendell Morgan; one daughter, Dianna Burton; two infant sons; and two sisters.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, from noon to 3 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Brethren Church in Sunnyside. Those wishing to honor Margaret’s memory may contribute to Memorial Home Care Services (Hospice) of Yakima, American Cancer Society or to the Grace Brethren Clear Lake Camp.
