Leonard DeLeon, 59, of Kelso
and a former Prosser resident passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, in Kelso.
Leonard was born April 26,
1947, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Jose D. and Nellie (Hernandez) DeLeon.
Leonard was raised by his step-father, Jose A. Gomez. Leonard served in the
U.S. Army. Following his military duty, Leonard returned to Prosser and later
moved to Kelso, where he attended Lower Columbia College.
Leonard worked 25 years at Longview Fiber
Company, where he would have retired this April.
Leonard is survived by three
sons, Leonard DeLeon Jr. and wife, Leonor, and Jacob DeLeon, all of Longview,
and Jason DeLeon and wife, Brandi, of Kelso; four grandchildren; and several
brothers and sisters, Robert DeLeon, Joe DeLeon, Carlos DeLeon, Rosemary
Castaneda, Lupe Salazar, Joe A. Gomez Jr., Rogelio Gomez, Dorothy Torres,
Lorenzo Gomez and Sylvia Gomez.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; and two brothers, Lloyd DeLeon and Arcadio DeLeon.
Viewing and visitation will
be held Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, from 10 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007,
from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral
Home in Sunnyside, with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Smith
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
