Firearm charge pending against alleged gang member

A small group of alleged gang members were arrested yesterday by Sunnyside police.

Of the four, 19-year-old Robert L. Ozuna was found to have a loaded 9mm handgun on his person. Detective Sgt. Jeff Cunningham said Ozuna has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

Police arrested the four teens after reports they were walking down the middle of South 13th Street, at about 2 p.m. Tuesday. Three of the teens, all 15 years old, have been charged with disorderly conduct.

Ozuna is the brother of Adrian Ozuna, 20, who was recently arrested and charged for a drive-by shooting. He is also the brother of Ventura Ozuna, who was featured as one of Sunnyside Police Department's most wanted and is now in custody.

All four suspects have been identified as gang members, according to Cunningham, and the three juveniles were released to their parents.
