Gilmer Allan Lange, 88, a longtime Grandview resident died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, in Grandview.

He was born Sept. 16, 1918, in Bee Hive, Mont. to Charles and Chloe Dell (Gitchell) Lange.

On Oct. 7, 1939 he married Audrey Maxine Ragsdale in Prosser.

On Feb. 7, 1957, he began his 25-year employment at the Grandview Post Office.

He is survived by all of his siblings, Robert Lange and wife, Fern, of Oregon, Willis Lange of Indiana, Thelma Waggener of Oregon, Ruth Lovelace of Washington, and Louis Lange and wife, Betty, of Virginia; one sister-in-law; his sons, Maurice A. Lang and wife, Gretchen of Grandview, Eugene Lange and wife, Carole, of Mabton, and daughter, Debra M. Foster and husband, Jim, of Grandview; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; his wife, Audrey Maxine (Ragsdale) Lange; and several nieces and nephews.

Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. A memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Grandview, with burial to follow at the Grandview Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
