Mildred Eleanor (Richmond) Guy went to be with her savior Feb. 23, 2007, at Hillcrest Manor, in Sunnyside. Mildred was born May 7, 1921 in Cincinnati, Iowa to Roy and Ruth Richmond. She was married to Leland Guy in Kansas City, Mo. They made their home in Novinger, Mo., prior to moving to Washington state.

Mildred loved the Lord, was very involved in her church, and enjoyed singing the old hymns. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed crocheting and working those puzzles with the pens she "borrowed" from one and all. Mildred never said no to any person who needed a helping hand. Her love for Jesus Christ could be seen through her everyday interaction with others.

Mildred is survived by her children, Karen and Garrett Oord; Gary and Joyce Guy; Sherry Emery; Ruth Barry; Ed and Deania Guy; Bob and Rena Guy; Letha and Tom Taunt; and Patty and Rick Stewart; 37 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister, Delbert Richmond, Norvel Robinson and Edna Faron, also survive her.

Her husband Leland, son Larry and grandson Dustin as well as five brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2007, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 528 South 8th, Sunnyside, with graveside services to follow at Outlook Cemetery.
