Grandview mulls forming organization to raise funds for new
GRANDVIEW - A its regular meeting this past Tuesday,
Grandview City Council gave City Administrator Scott Staples the go-ahead to
meet with a group of individuals interested in raising funds for a new animal
shelter in the city.
Council was approached with a budget request to replace the
existing facility last year, but council didn't give its approval.
Staples said that he's been approaching by several
interested parties and asked council's permission to "sit down and have a
brainstorming session." Staples also noted that nearby Prosser recently
built a new animal shelter, and that city has offered to share construction
plans with Grandview at no charge.
