WILLIAM HENRY KRESSE

William “Bill” Henry Kresse, 53, a long-time Sunnyside resident and businessman, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at

Sunnyside

Hospital

.

He was born March 16, 1953, in Sunnyside to Henry Lawrence “Larry” and Patricia J. (

Wilson

) Kresse. William received his education in Sunnyside, and graduated with the Sunnyside High School Class of 1972. He worked for the Oregon State Department of Forestry for two years. While working for the Forestry Department, Bill adopted a half-wolf, half-shepherd, dog he named, Nova. His overwhelming love of animals included, a black lab, named Sugar, which was a gift from his father, and a foster dog named, Junior.

In 1974, Bill began work for his family business Kresse Furnace and Air Conditioning. He was a man of few words and cherished time spent with his family.

Bill was an honorary member of the Sunnyside VFW. He was also a caregiver for many elderly people, including Orval Reeseman.

Bill is survived by his two sisters, Janet Brown and husband, Steve, and Terra Brinton and husband, Rich, all of

Grandview

; and one brother, Cary Kresse and wife, Dorris, of Outlook. He is also survived by his stepmother, Mary Kresse of Sunnyside, as well

as

numerous

nieces, nephews, aunts and one uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, from noon to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home

in

Sunnyside. Those wishing to honor his memory may contribute to the Sunnyside VFW. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
