Fun in the water promised at youth water carnival

GRANDVIEW - Thursday, Aug. 2, the Grandview Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a youth water carnival at the Grandview swimming pool.

The carnival is open to children ages 1 to 12 at 1 p.m. and is offered for an admission fee of $1 per child.

Offered at the carnival will be water follies, games and other events. There will be games outside of the swimming pool for younger children.

Prizes and candy will be given to all participants in the carnival.

Open swim will not be held on the date of the carnival.

The swimming pool is located on West Second Street in Westside Park.

'Just for Kicks' soccer event set in September

GRANDVIEW - Kids are being offered the opportunity to participate in the "Just for Kicks" soccer fun event at Euclid Park on Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Grandview.

A soccer pass, shoot and dribble contest will be featured at the event, with ribbon awards to be handed out to the participants.

The fee for the event is $1 per child. Children ages 5 to 12 are welcome to participate.

Parents can register their children at 5:45 p.m. the day of the event, which will begin at 6 p.m.
