Bernice Dodd, 74, a long-time Sunnyside resident, went to be in the arms of her heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at her home.

She was born on Jan. 12, 1933, in Freck, Ark., the daughter of Tramon and Pearl (Watts) Still. On Sept. 25, 1950, she married A.C. Dodd in Prosser. The Dodd family made their home in various places including Hawaii and Alaska, following her husband’s work. She later owned and operated Willowcrest Upholstery.

She enjoyed gardening and talking on the phone.

Bernice is survived by four children, Al Dodd (Ann), of Auburn, Randy Dodd (Donna), of Sunnyside, Max Dodd (Elizabeth), of Selah and Chris Dodd of Sunnyside; nine grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Vern Still, Alton Still and Arvil Still; and one sister, Opal Tayon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.C. Dodd; and one sister, Iva Lee Baker.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2007, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with burial at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. The family would like to thank Lower Valley Hospice and staff, especially nurse, Kathy, and all the past and present care providers, especially, Betty for all their loving care. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
