Two men shot in downtown Sunnyside last night

Sunnyside police are searching for those responsible for the shooting of two men last night (Sunday) in the 100 block of North Sixth Street, in the Acapulco Restaurant parking lot.

The two men who were shot have been identified as Martin V. Munoz, 29, and Efrain L. Hernandez, 25, both of Sunnyside.

Munoz was found with a gunshot wound to the head and, after being transported to Sunnyside Community Hospital, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Hernandez was also transported to Sunnyside Community Hospital, where he was treated and remains in care for a gunshot wound to the torso.

The persons believed responsible for last night's shooting are believed to have fled the scene in a silver 2000 Chevrolet Suburban, license number 847TJY.

Police consider the suspects to be armed and dangerous.

The firearm used in the 7 p.m. shootings has not been recovered.

No further information was available from police officials at press time.
