Ignacio Carrasco, 92, of Prosser passed away Friday, June 15, 2007, at Prosser Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 27, 1914, in Villa Victoria, Michoacan, Mexico to Manuel and Ermelinda (Guerrero) Carrasco. Ignacio married Amalia Mendoza in Mexico. They lived in Michoacan until 1977, when they came to Washington state. They lived in Granger and Prosser and worked in the agricultural industry, primarily with apples, cherries and grapes.

Ignacio attended the Christian Church in Outlook.

He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Amalia of Prosser; five sons, Ignacio Carrasco Jr., Antonio Carrasco and Francisco Carrasco, all of Prosser, Pedro Carrasco of Toppenish and Ramon Carrasco of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Adela Carrasco of Sunnyside and Consuelo Carrasco of Yakima; one brother, Francisco Carrasco of Mexico; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four daughters; five brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2007, from 11 to 7 p.m. at Prosser Funeral Home with an evening service beginning at 5 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Prosser Funeral Home, with concluding services and burial to follow at Prosser Cemetery. Prosser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
