Yes vote on bond issue the right thing to do

From the desk of someone who has lived in Sunnyside since 1953, with the final vote on the bond issue coming up on Tuesday, March 13th, I thought I would like to give those who haven't voted two reasons to vote in favor of the issue.

One, as businesses recruit professionals to a community, the quality of life in the area is important to many people-what types of schools are in the town, what facilities are available to families. This bond issue is an opportunity to upgrade an area we have fallen so far behind in (the football field). You have to wonder what year is it, 1967 or 2007?

The electrical upgrade on the auditorium, which is used as much if not more than our gyms by the community, should be an obvious reason for all of us to vote for the bond issue. It is a place everyone from grandchild to grandmother enjoys sometime during the year.

Two, all of us who live in this community have children, nephews, nieces, counsins and friends who attend our schools and are affected by the condition of these facilities. Is it not in your best interest to make those who are dear to you feel better about themselves and those around them? I think we all know the answer to that question and I can only hope the community does what is in the best interest of the community, and vote yes for the bond issue.
