OBITUARY

Fernando “Fred” Fernandez, 43, of Sunnyside “and don’t you forget it”, as he would say, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007, in Sunnyside.

Fred was born Oct. 18, 1963, in Yakima, to Pablo and Celia (Salinas) Fernandez. He attended Sunnyside schools, and graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1981. Fred was a graduate of Central Washington University. He worked in floor covering.

Fred loved life. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also had a passion for playing the guitar, fishing and performing magical tricks.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, where he served as an altar boy as a child. He had a good sense of humor with his favorite phrase being, “Do you have tape?

I’m ripped”, while showing his flexed muscles.

He will be missed by his family and friends. His grandson,

Jo’Siya

, will carry his name.

He is survived by his mother, Celia Salinas of

Sunnyside

; his father, Pablo Fernandez of Texas; a son, Raymond Ray Fernandez Strong of

Toppenish

; two daughters,

Celestina

Fernandez of Grandview and

Trishell

Fernandez of

Sunnyside

; five sisters, Juanita Clifford of Everett, Rosa Linda

Alaniz

,

Anabel

Bermudez

, and Rachel Fernandez, all of

Sunnyside

and Nelly Hernandez of

Medina

; and a grandson,

Jo’Siya

Fernandez of Grandview.

Viewing will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007, and Sunday, March 18, 2007, from 1 until 8 p.m., with a recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel in

Sunnyside

. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 19, 2007, at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in

Sunnyside
