Gladys Josephine Graves, 80, of Sunnyside, beloved wife and mother, died peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2007, with her loving husband of 60 years by her side. She endured many years of heart problems.

Gladys was born July 16, 1926 in Moxee City. She moved with her family to Sunnyside at the age of six months and remained here for her entire life. Gladys graduated from Sunnyside High School with the class of 1944.

She married Leonard Graves on Feb. 16, 1947. She co-worked with Leonard at Sunnyside Frozen Foods for more than 15 years, and then at local seasonal fruit warehouses.

Gladys was a long-time member of the Sunnyside Eagles #2927. She enjoyed camping, fishing and family gatherings.

She will be deeply missed.

Gladys is survived by her husband, Leonard of Sunnyside; five children, Judy and husband, Don Fegley, Pat and husband, Gary Hoskins, Myrtle and husband, Steve Dorsey, Becky and husband, Mick Tucker and Lenny Graves and partner, Lori; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Besie Turner and Myrtle Humbyrd; and a grandson, Gregory Hoskins.

Viewing will be held Monday, March 26, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, March 27, 2007, from 10 a.m. until noon with graveside services to follow at 1 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. Memorials may be made to the Lower Valley Hospice. Valley Hills Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
