Ella Wendt Krussow, 97, a
long-time Grandview resident died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Orchard House in
She was born April 5, 1910,
in Hutchinson, Minn., the daughter of Thomas E. and Ida (Jensen) Christensen.
In 1932, she married August Wendt in St. Paul, Minn. They moved to Grandview in
1945, where she worked for Rock’s Market and The Toggery. Her husband August,
died in 1975. On March 24, 1981, she married Orville Krussow in Grandview.
She is survived by her husband,
Orville Krussow of Grandview; two sons, Lowell Wendt of Grandview and Harold
Wendt of Prosser; her stepson, Orville Krussow Jr. and wife, Jan, of
Bellingham; one brother, LeRoy Christensen of Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; her husband, August; one son, Alroy Wendt; one daughter, Coleen
Gidner; five brothers; and three sisters.
Viewing and visitation will
be held Monday, May 7, 2007, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in
Grandview. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 2 p.m. at
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grandview, with burial to follow at Grandview
Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
