Roeberta E. White, 86, a
long-time Yakima Valley resident passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Odd
Fellows Assisted Living in Walla Walla.
She was born Sept. 29, 1920
in Edmond, Okla. to Dean and Bertha Henry. She and her family moved to Olympia
in 1937, where she graduated from high school in 1938. In 1950, she married
Ernest White in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They made their home in Grandview.
She was a member of
Grandview Rebekah Lodge #246, past president of Rebekah Assembly 1977 and
treasurer emeritus of Grandview Ladies Encampment Auxiliary.
Roeberta and Ernest enjoyed
many adventurous trips.
Ernest died in 1992.
In 1994, Roeberta moved to Yakima.
In 2002, she moved to Rebekah’s retirement
facility in Walla Walla.
She enjoyed embroidery,
quilting, writing and receiving letters from family.
She is survived by three
sons, James Gaut of Kent, Ernest (Marilyn) White Jr. of Juneau, Alaska and
Robert (Tina) White of Yakima;
daughters, Carol Spurlock and Naia Kraft, both of Seattle; 12 grandchildren,
six great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren; two brothers,
Lloyd Henry (Bev) of Colville and Claude Henry (Donna), of Yakima.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; her husband, Ernest; two sisters, Eleanor Henry and LaDean
Armstrong; and one brother, William Henry.
Viewing and visitation will
be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral
Home in Grandview, with graveside services to follow at 1 p.m. at Grandview
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walla Walla
