Osvaldo Garza, 75, of
Grandview died on Monday, May 7, 2007, in Spokane.
He was born Feb. 18, 1932,
in Corpus Christi, Texas to Eduardo and Luisa (Garcia) Garza. He received his
education in Granger. He served in the U.S. Army, from July 1, 1955, until Oct.
17, 1959. Following his service he moved back to Granger, where he worked as a
farm laborer, and was a truck driver for Perez Trucking in Quincy.
He is survived by his wife,
Mary Rodriguez of Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Cathy Perez and husband,
Paul, of Oxnard, Calif.; one son, Albert Valdez of Tacoma; eight grandchildren
and numerous great-grandchildren; his siblings, Augustina Rodriguez and
husband, Carlos, of Grandview, Nicolas Sanchez and wife, Rosita, of Granger, Elena
Barrera and Francisco Sanchez and wife, Margarita, all of Connell, and Vicente
Sanchez of Ephrata; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; and one daughter, Josie Venegas.
Viewing and visitation will
be held today, Tuesday, May 8, 2007, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in
Grandview. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at 11 a.m. at
Smith Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery. Smith Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
