Juan Cortez Tellez, 63, of Mabton passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007, at 5:49 p.m. at Harborview Hospital in Seattle.

He was born March 25, 1944 in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico to Juan Cortez and Ester Tellez. He lived in Mabton for more than 20 years with his friend Lorenzo Rangel and family.

Juan enjoyed a lot of things in life, but what he enjoyed best was working. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed working in the hops, cherries, apples and grapes. During his spare time, he enjoyed riding his bike and going to the Minute Mart in Mabton to chat with friends over a cup of coffee.

Juan is survived by his cousins, the Tellez family of Mabton and Sunnyside.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Cortez and Ester Tellez.

He will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

A Mass will be held Monday, May 28, 2007, at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside.

The Tellez family would like to thank everyone who helped with donations and arrangements for his cremation. First Call Plus in Kent is in charge of arrangements.
