Lots of folks seeing me pedaling my bike around the Valley are very encouraging. I've been training for the Seattle to Portland ride July 14-15. I have decided to try to do some good in this ride, and turn it into a fundraiser for the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation.
I chose this illness because it claimed my mother a few years ago. And despite all the attention from Michael J. Fox, it is still relatively low in profile in the media.
My mom was very frail at the end, and my hope is I can complete the ride in her honor.
If you would like to make a pledge I would be glad to send you a form, or you can go on-line and pledge to my effort at www.nwpf.org/ on the internet. Click on Team Parkinson's, donate and scroll until you see my name.
Meantime, keep your eyes on the road and not the cell phone and help keep we bike riders safe.
