Ella M. Koehler, 77, a longtime Sunnyside resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Grandview Health Care Center.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1930, in Douglas County, Wis., the daughter of Harry and Edith (Ford) Brown. She graduated from Grandview High School with the class of 1949.

On Dec. 12, 1949, she married Jay Don Koehler in Mabton. The Koehler family made their home in Mabton until moving to Sunnyside in 1953. She retired from Twin City Foods in 1994.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet Price (Ron) of Sunnyside and Debbie Savage (Lee) of Lusk, Wyoming; two sons, Eldon Koehler of Hermiston, Ore. and LeRoy Koehler of Sunnyside; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; six sisters, Alice Main of Okla., Bessie Folden, Hazel Robins and Charliene Cox, all of Oregon, Harriett Lamb and Helen Blount, both of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay Don Koehler; one granddaughter; and one sister, Grace Garcia.

A private family inurnment will be held at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
