Delbert L. Savage, 84, a lifetime Bickleton resident, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver.

He was born May 8, 1923 in Dot, the son of Albert L. and Mary Elizabeth (Colburn) Savage. He graduated from Bickleton High School with the class of 1941. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WW II. He owned and operated the Bickleton Garage from 1976 to 1997.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Leona of Bickleton; one son, Mark Savage of Camas; three daughters, Kaye Looney of Camas, Marsha Middleton of Walla Walla, and Kathy Juris of Bickleton; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Viewing and visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at the Bickleton Presbyterian Church in Bickleton. Burial will follow at the Bickleton, IOOF cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.

Those wishing to honor Mr. Savage's memory may contribute to the Bickleton Fire Department EMS fund or to the donor's choice.
