GRANDVIEW - Talk with a wildlife biologist, meet famed guide and waterfowl caller Tony Bernsen, enter to win an inclusive, guided goose hunt for four, all at The Hunt is On Expo this Saturday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mid-Valley Automotive at 501 E. Stover Road in Grandview.
Officials from the Benton County Department of Fish and Wildlife will be on hand to talk about this fall's hunting prospects.
Information will be also provided about anti-poaching measures, such as the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife's on-line reporting page for fish and wildlife violations.
This information encourages any citizen who witnesses a fish and wildlife offense to report the violation. Individuals that witness and would like to report a violation, can call toll-free 1-800-477-6224.
Reports are confidential and are forwarded to a fish and wildlife officer for investigation. Information that leads to an arrest of a violater, could be eligible for a cash reward ($50 for fish and $100 for wildlife) or hunting bonus points (10 points). Hunting bonus points offer a better chance for the special permit season.
This Saturday's event at the car dealership also offers an opportunity to hone skills such as archery, fly casting and Dutch oven cooking.
Those attending this free event are invited to enter to win a four-person guided goose hunt from Eagle Lakes Ranch valued at $1800, a Yukon Gold Gun Safe from Mid Valley Automotive valued at $600 and Gamehide hunting gear from the Sportsman's Warehouse valued at $300.
The Hunt is On Expo is an opportunity to talk face-to-face with professionals from Eagle Lakes Ranch about hunting techniques and calling, learn from officers and biologists from the Department of Fish and Wildlife, and you can even practice your duck and goose calling techniques with the best of the best.
