Henry (Hank) Witecka, 58, of Sunnyside went to be with his Lord, on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007.

He was born June 26, 1949 in Germany.

Hank lived here in Sunnyside for the past four years.

He served in the U.S. Marines Corp for six years. He received the Purple Heart Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He enjoyed all kinds of sports, listening to Neil Diamond and playing darts. But most of all, he enjoyed going to Double D Steakhouse and having coffee with his friends.

Hank is survived by his two stepdaughters, Hannah Dixon and husband, Jon, of Selah and Tami Hale of Port Orchard; five grandchildren, Noah Hale and MaKinley Dixon, both of Selah; Shawn, Preston and Brittany, all of Oroville; and friends, Randy and Theresa Dalton of Sunnyside, and their kids, Sam and Dan Dalton, both of Lakebay, Wash. and Victoria Bruhn and husband, Rick, of Sunnyside.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his companion, Sharon Cosgrove.

He will be missed by all who knew him, but most of all by his family.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street in Kent.

Columbia Funeral Home in Seattle is in charge of arrangements.
