Sunnyside teen dies following rollover accident near Prosser

A family member has confirmed that a Sunnyside man passed away this morning at about 11 a.m. at Harborview Medical Center following an accident that happened on I-82 yesterday near Prosser.

According to the Washington State Patrol, John F. Miller, 19, was traveling westbound near milepost 83 when his vehicle left the roadway and went into the median. Police said Miller over-corrected to the right, crossed both westbound lanes, then over-corrected to the left, back into the median. The 1999 Ford truck rolled three times and rested on its top. The vehicle was totaled in the accident.

Police said Miller was wearing a seat belt and suffered head and neck injuries as a result of the crash.

The state patrol is investigating whether or not drugs or alcohol were factors involved in the accident.
