Ronald O. Lund, 92, a long-time Sunnyside resident, went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at his home.

Ron was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Covert, Kan., the son of Ora and Fredia Blanch (Westphall) Lund.

In 1943, Ron moved to Sunnyside, where he raised turkeys and was an engineer at Western Farmers.

Ron was a repairman and handyman until the age of 86. He loved to keep busy.

On Oct. 22, 1995, he married Patricia Jennings in Sunnyside.

In his spare time, Ron enjoyed reading and putting together 3-D puzzles.

He was a member of the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church. Ronald is survived by his wife, Patricia Lund of Sunnyside; two daughters, Carol Smith (Jim) of Outlook and one daughter, Lois Suski (Allen) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; one brother, Rex Lund of Sunnyside; and one sister, Eileen Kunish of Quincy; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 64 years, Violette; one daughter, Iris Kellogg; two brothers, Paul and Dean; and two sisters, Zelma Lewis and Irene Fisk.

Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
