Betty Lou Finley, 74, a long-time Sunnyside resident, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Yakima Regional Hospital.

She was born June 24, 1933, in Holdenville, Okla., the daughter of Merle and Anna (Shafer) Alt. In 1962, she moved to Grandview, before settling in Sunnyside.

She had worked for the United Telephone Company for 17 years as an operator.

She is survived by one son, Frank Duncan of Sunnyside; three daughters, Glenda Febus and Brenda Deaton (George), all of Prosser, and Becky Kern (Ray), of Sunnyside; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion Zimmerman of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one brother, Jack Alt of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Finley; one son, Roger Duncan; two sisters; and one brother.

There will be no formal funeral services. Inurnment will be held at the Grandview Cemetery.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
