Sweet Adelines offers singing class

The Rolling Hills Chorus, the Mid-Columbia's barbershop harmony chorus for women, will present "Learn to Sing with the Sweet Adelines" a free, four-week group vocal class for women who love to sing.

Classes will be held Thursdays, Sept. 13 through Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Pasco Senior Center and will be taught by Certified Sweet Adeline Director, Lucy Heinkel.

Women of all ages, vocal ranges and ability are welcome. A $10 materials fee covers the cost of music, class syllabus and learning CD.

Basic principles of singing will be taught, such as posture and breathing, resonance, range expansion, how to learn a song and singing with energy and emotion.

The Rolling Hills Chorus is comprised of 30 women who share a love of music and singing four-part barbershop harmony.

The chorus holds weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings at the Pasco Senior Center, 1315 N. Seventh, Pasco.
