Peggy Stephens, 84, a longtime Sunnyside resident, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at her home in Port Saint Lucie, Fla.

Peggy was born on Aug. 26, 1923 in Port Orchard. She received her education in the Yakima Valley. In 1947 Peggy married Jim Stephens in Toppenish. Jim passed away in 1982 and Peggy continued to make her home in Sunnyside. In 2003 she moved to Port Saint Lucie, to be close to her daughter, Staci Storms. Peggy volunteered for many years for various organizations in the Yakima Valley. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards and fishing.

Peggy is survived by three daughters, Staci Storms (Bob) of Port Saint Lucie, Susan Jennings (Ron) of Everett and special daughter, Brends Reesman Osborn of Kirkland; one son, Roy Frazier of Sunnyside; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Stephens; three sisters; and two brothers.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, from 9 until 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.
