'Hounds no match for Othello Huskies

GRANDVIEW - Both the Grandview High School boys and girls tennis teams fell to Othello at home last night, 4-1, 4-1.

Grandview's Rodrigo Fajardo was the lone winner for the Greyhound boys, defeating Othello's Adam Beus in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2.

In No. 2 singles, Othello's Raymond Rodriguez defeated Gabe Contreras, 6-2, 6-0.

In first doubles, Grandview's team of Joey Diaz and Edgar Candido fell to T.D. Peterson and Sam Harris, 6-4, 6-4.

In second doubles, Othello's Riley Peterson and Judah Gowan defeated Roli Solis and Garrett Walker, 6-0, 6-1.

Grandview's third doubles team of Justin Moreno and Jose Madrigal fell to Matt Beus and Taylor Vignarie, 6-1, 6-1.

The No. 1 doubles team of Christine Penwell and Sydney Mottice defeated Othello's Pricilla Cantu and Jadee Roylance, 6-3, 6-3.

The second doubles team of Tania Valdez and Mary Gamino lost to Othello's Jessy Schmidt and Jody Walker, 6-4, 6-3.

The No. 3 doubles team of Samantha Wyatt and Trina Collins lost to Othello's Ashleigh Snyder and Vanessa Deleon, 6-1, 6-3.

No. 2 singles player Mariah Coronado lost to Othello's Katie Spohr, 6-4, 6-0.

In No. 1 singles, Rosi Godinez lost to Othello's Scherry Levdhart, 6-1, 6-3.
