EPHRATA - Grandview's golf team didn't exactly bring it, the goods that is, to last Monday's three-school match at the Ephrata golf course.
The host Tigers came away with top honors, shooting an aggregate 344 behind medalist Matt Pixlee's round of 8-over-par 79. Cascade High School of Leavenworth, riding the 86 carded by Kent Foust, finished second with a team score of 375.
Grandview was well back with a collective 474.
The low scorer for the Greyhound linksters turned out to be Jade Parker. He managed a 107 on front and back nine scores of 52-55. Four shots back at 111 was teammate Josh Jardine, who remained consistent with front and back side scores of 55-56.
Rounding out the scoring for the 'Hounds were Greg Gonzalez with a 116 (60-56) and Tim Brodie with a 140 (70-70).
Three Grandview girls also made the trip to Ephrata this past Monday. Kate Veloz finished with the best round, shooting a 109. Grandview's Yvette Frias set a personal best for 18 holes of play by carding a 151. Teammate Amanda McLean posted a 74 on the front side Monday, but elected to forego the back nine holes of play.
Grandview's girls are scheduled to play at Ephrata again next Monday, April 21. The Grandview boys golf team isn't scheduled to compete again until Tuesday, April 22, at Toppenish's Mt. Adams Country Club against the likes of Wapato and Ephrata.
